02 BRIEF
03 CONCEPT
NEVER FORGET YOUR ROOT

FROM A SMALL ROOT, A MIGHTY TRUNK MAY GROW.
Encouraging R&D and entrepreneurship activities
- Aeschylus (Ancient Greece Tragedian)
Continuous hardwork in seeking and doing R&D
Metaphorical structure of tree
Result of R&D and entrepreneurship activities
In the design concept, metaphor architecture is taken as an approach to mimic the structure and characteristic of a tree which expands as it grows taller; at the same time provides porous shades to create the ambience of staying inside a natural environment. The reason to metaphor trees is because the growing process of trees could actually explain the vision of UTM Science Centre to encourage R&D and entrepreneurship activities and finally showcase the end products from UTM Technocation Park in the building. UTM Science Centre also aim to provide a natural and comfort platform for the people to have discussion on the R&D results and activities. Besides, using trees as concept is also a way to commemorate the contribution of the people during the past and remind people nowadays to be gratitude for what they achieved today and never forgot the original intention to carry out the R&D activities. This reflect UTM culture in achieving its vision and mission, where UTM never forget about the purpose of its establishment: To be a premier global academic and research institution, as well as leading the development of holistic talent s and innovative technologies.
